Top Ten Five Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel

Well it’s a bit of a weak start as I was only able to come up with 5 authors, but not bad for my first time!

It was a case of “it’s not you, it’s me” with Sirowy’s debut, The Creeping.  It just wasn’t the book I wanted it to be and that is more my fault than hers.  I am eagerly awaiting her sophomore novel, The Telling.

Shutter was an exciting story about ghost hunters, but Alameda’s 2nd novel, Pitch Dark, sounds so awesome! Space scavengers and deadly aliens! Sign me up.

Under the Egg was one of my favorite reads of 2014, and while there isn’t a description for her second novel, The Gallery, I will definitely be reading it.

I think it was another case of “it’s not you, it’s me” because everyone seems to LOVE Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.  I had some issues with it, but I think Albertalli is a talented writer and I’m looking forward to what else she writes.

OK I know that, technically, Cat Winters is already on her like 4th novel or whatever, but I still have to read The Cure for Dreaming.  Winters creates such beautifully, creepy settings and interesting characters.  I own it, I just haven’t been in the mood to read it whenever I pick it up.  But 2016 is the year!
