I already posted about my favorite covers from 2015.  Here are some of my favorites from 2016.  I’m sure I’ll do another post once all the covers are up!

I think this batch of covers really represents what I look for in a cover.  It’s less about beautiful girls in beautiful dresses (or actual people at all) and more about the typography and the colors.  That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a pretty dress every now and then!

What do you look for in a cover? What are some of your favorites for 2016 releases?

Whoever said you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover was wrong (it’s people you shouldn’t judge by their looks, not books!).  It is the first thing you see, and if the cover is butt ugly it is going to be a lot harder for me to even pick it up.  Sometimes I add books to my TBR without even reading the synopsis and just hope for the best.

Of course, I have been burned by a beautiful cover before, and pleasantly surprised by a boring ugly one.  The best books, in my opinion, have both beautiful stories and beautiful covers.  And just because the book wasn’t for me doesn’t make me love the cover any less!

Here are 15 of my favorite covers from the 2015 New Releases.

I wasn’t very good with reading 2015 releases this year, which I’m trying to make up for with the 2016 New Release Challenge. All I’ve read of this list is Dumplin’ and Beastkeeper, both of which actually disappointed me.

Do you judge books by their covers? What are some of your favorite book covers?
