Ten Of The Best Books I’ve Read Recently

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

It’s been so long since I’ve participated in TTT.

It isn’t often that I rate a book 5 stars.  5 Stars are reserved for my all time favorite books or books that make me cry hysterically without even really trying.  So there aren’t that many of those.  But I have read some really great books recently.

The first 3 books of The Raven Cycle.  If I was one to give out 5 stars, these would definitely get them.  All 3 books got 4.5 stars, so it’s basically the highest honor a book can get (Unless it’s Harry Potter).

This is a series I’m currently reading, and I’ve really, really enjoyed the first 2 books.   Through the Ever Night was a rare instance where I think the sequel was better than the original.

I only recently started reading Historical Romance so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I really enjoyed this one.

This one was actually on my “nope” shelf on Goodreads and I am so glad I gave it a chance.  One of the better vampire books I’ve read in a long time.

What can I say?  I’m a sucker for time travel.

Another shockingly wonderful book.  This was hilarious and scary and I never expected to like it as much as I did.

  1. I’m super stingy with 5-star ratings too but I think I’ve lower standards than you do! I hardly ever cry hysterically from watching/reading, so if I have that as a criteria there’s probably like, 0 book for that list. 😛

I LOVE historical romance and Lisa Kleypas is 100% one of my go-to authors! And I agree that Vampire Academy was one of the better vampire books out there.

  2. I really loved Through the Ever Night and was so happy that it didn’t fall into that second book slump. The Raven Cycle will always be one of my all time favourite series and I can’t wait to see what The Raven King has in store for us.
