Ten Books I Recently Removed From My TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

It’s a Freebie week on TTT so I had to come up with my own theme.  And since I am so uncreative I had to cheat.  Last week’s theme was Top Ten Books You’ve Recently Added to Your TBR and I didn’t participate.

But I was going through my virtual TBR on Goodreads and damn! I have 787 books on my TBR and quite a few of those books have been on there for 2+ year. So I decided to go through and weed the list. So this week’s theme is:

Top Ten Books I Recently Removed From My TBR

All of these have been on my TBR since either 2013 or 2014. If it has been sitting there for that long and I haven’t even thought about reading it, I think it’s safe to say that I probably won’t ever get around to it.

Also, I went through and reread the blurbs and a lot of them I just have no interest in reading.  A few I don’t even know why were on my TBR because they are about topics that I generally try to avoid.

It was so nice going through and weeding the TBR. I feel so much better even having only ten less books staring at me waiting to be read.  I think I’m going to start doing it every month. Maybe I should try and weed 5 books off the virtual TBR.  (I’ll probably forget about my plan to do this tomorrow.)

Do you guys weed your virtual TBR lists?

What did you recently remove?

Have you read any of these books above?

  1. I just recently really cut mine down. Doesn’t it feel great to do? Like you, reading the blurbs I was like “Ehm…why is this on my list again?” My goal now is to keep my TBR on Goodreads at under 150. If I want to go over that, something has to fall off to take its place.

  2. I definitely need to purge my tbr list. After looking through it for last week’s TTT, I noticed that I didn’t even remember adding some books to the list and after reading the blurb for some of the book I was baffled at why I even thought about adding them to the list haha.

  3. YAY! Great choice of topic this week. I always love freebie week as people always do such amazing topics! This is such a good idea and something I really need to hurry up and do this myself. I’ve not read any of these either. I add so many books to my Goodreads TBR than I never ever get to.

Here’s my TTT post if you want to check it out. I picked non-book romances I would love to see get book adaptations.

  4. Oooh good topic! I rarely do this, but I technically did just do this a month or two ago. And I probably only removed 5! These are new to me reads here, so I can say from my point of reading, that you aren’t making a mistake! LOL!

    Here’s my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. I do cut books out from time to time. It is a good feeling! I’m not familiar with most of these although Lisa Schroeder’s name jumped out at me- I read All We Have is Now last year from her, and it didn’t really blow me away. But then I’ve heard her My Secre Guide to Paris is fun. Anyway…yeah it’s funny when you look at a blurb and can’t remember why you wanted to read it! 🙂
