I’m in a bit of a reading slump. I was doing really well with my reading schedule for the first week of December, but after reading 2 books I own and 2 ARCs, I kind of just fizzled out. I mean, 4 books in a week is really good! But I haven’t read a single word in 2 days. I have listened to audiobooks in the car but it’s not exactly the same thing. So right after I post this sad little update I am going to start my ARC of Worlds of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley.
Charlotte, Branwell, Emily, and Anne. The Brontë siblings have always been inseparable. After all, nothing can bond four siblings quite like life in an isolated parsonage out on the moors. Their vivid imaginations lend them escape from their strict upbringing, actually transporting them into their created worlds: the glittering Verdopolis and the romantic and melancholy Gondal. But at what price? As Branwell begins to slip into madness and the sisters feel their real lives slipping away, they must weigh the cost of their powerful imaginations, even as their characters—the brooding Rogue and dashing Duke of Zamorna—refuse to let them go.
I haven’t read much of the Bronte’s work. In fact, I’ve only ever read Jane Eyre. But after I received this ARC I did a bunch of wikipedia research and I’m intrigued about how this book will go about fictionalizing their lives.
