Top Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I’m Looking Forward To/Still Need To Watch*

Mockingjay Pt 2

Obviously this has to be #1.  I am so excited for this.  It’s the one series that my boyfriend actually liked listening to on audio and he loves the movies.  I’m still holding out hope that a certain death doesn’t make the transition to the big screen.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Does this count as a book adaption? Either way I am SO EXCITED for this. When HP and the Deathly Hallows PT 2 was released, I was a bit sad that I would have no more midnight showings to go to, so I’m really hoping there is one for this

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

I wasn’t a huge fan of this novel, but I am a Tim Burton fan so I will definitely be seeing this when it comes out in 2016.

Frankenstein

While I haven’t read the book, there is no way I can pass up James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe (plus, it’s not like the movie can ruin the plot)

The Martian

The only reason I actually read this was so that I could see the movie.  I actually ended up really liking it.  I never made it to the movie theater while it was playing (is it still playing?) but I know I’ll see it eventually.

The Scorch Trials

Dylan O’Brien is just so pretty.  Kind of makes up for the fact that I didn’t enjoy these books that much (and never read the last one).  The first movie wasn’t that bad and I’m sure I’ll eventually watch this one.

Paper Towns

On a recent 8 hour road trip, the boyfriend and I listened to Me and Earl and The Dying Girl and Paper Towns. We weren’t that impressed with Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (although I think it is one of the few instances where the movie was better than the book).  By the end of Paper Towns the BF was hoping that they would find Margo dead.  He wasn’t a fan.  I wasn’t really either, but I still want to see how it was adapted.

Insurgent

Never made it to the movie theater while this one was playing either.  I plan on rereading the series (and finishing it) in 2016, so I’ll probably wait until the 3rd movie comes out to watch this one.

The Hobbit

I’ve never read the books, but I’ve seen all of the LOTR movies, and while I do plan on reading the books at some point in my life, I’ll probably see these movies first.

The DUFF

My one friend this was a super cute movie.  I don’t think I will go out of my way to see it (unless I read the book first) but  if it comes on Netflix or Amazon Prime I’d probably watch it.
